It all began back in 1990 when Paul Glynn started his waste recycling business with just 1 lorry, the company was based in Stratford, East London. Working alongside him was his wife and between them, the company grew very rapidly. The company relocated to a site in barking, Essex that better suited the company’s needs. After leaving school his daughter Aimee joined the company and Paul had “HIS TEAM” as he called them. Paul, his wife Elaine and daughter Aimee continued working hard to push the company and watched the business go from strength to strength. Paul then purchased the site next door to him which was a metal recycling company. After many happy years in the waste recycling industry Paul accepted an offer to sell his company and sat back to enjoy his retirement, however retirement and Paul didn't go hand in hand so in 2009 he went back to work but this time he solely concentrated on metal recycling.
Again alongside his family, this time with the addition of his other daughter Shannon and son Joe, he opened a metal recycling company based in Brixton, Southeast London. Aimee and son-in Law Myles took on the day to day running of the company, however the company quickly outgrew the premises in Brixton but a larger more suitable site could not be found. The company continued to grow under Paul’s watchful eye and in late 2015 Paul permanently retired from the company due to ill health. His daughter and son in law continued running the company whilst continuing to try and find another more suitable site. In Early 2017 Paul sadly passed away at the age of 55. Following her dads passing, Aimee and Myles decided to rebrand and started their own metal recycling company Copia Metals. A larger more suitable site was acquired in Penhall Road, Charlton and taking with them the wealth of knowledge and experience they both gained working in the recycling world alongside the one and only Mr Glynn they are confident that Copia Metals will continue to grow and are looking forward to a successful 2019.
